Thor's Cave is a natural limestone cavern in the Manifold Valley, Staffordshire. With its dramatic, arched entrance perched on a hillside, it offers stunning views of the valley below. The cave's interior features stalactites, making it popular among hikers and spelunkers.
This location is mostly ideally for sunsets however if you're happy to put in a good hike then this location can be great to watch an inversion meander through Manifold Valley. Most people visit Thors Cave and shoot out of the caves mouth looking at the trees in Manifold Valley. For sunrise, hike up Wetton Mill hills to watch the mist below the mouth of Thors Cave
Autumn and Spring are my favourite time to visit this location. Autumn brings out the oranges and reds in the trees within Manifold Valley, with there also being a chance of mist at sunrise. Spring gives nice sidelight into the valley.
The best location to park for this location is Wetton Mill - DE6 2AG . There are car park spaces along the road leading to Manifold Valley. You will approach a gate on the right which take you to the steps that go to Thors Cave. If you go left then you will head towards the hills along Wetton Mill.
